Why Setora
Phorest is a deeper, older product than Setora, and it is a fair choice for a salon that wants that depth. The difference is what you can find out before you talk to anyone: Setora is £39/month per location, published, with unlimited stylists and no Setora commission on bookings.
Phorest has a much broader feature set than Setora, including loyalty, an integrated online store, stock management and its own branded client app. If you rely on those, Setora is not a like-for-like replacement today and you should say so on the demo call.
No card required. Then £39/month per location if you stay. SMS credits and card processing are separate if used.

Questions
Clear answers to the questions owners ask when they are weighing Setora against another platform.
Phorest does not publish a rate card. Its pricing page, checked 6 August 2026, lists Starter, Grow, Ultimate and Elite plans for salons and asks you to request a quote for each. That means you cannot compare the monthly cost against other tools without going through a demo first. Setora publishes its price: £39/month per location.
It depends what you are replacing. If you want the same salon focus with published, flat pricing, Setora is a direct alternative at £39/month per location with unlimited stylists and no commission. If you want marketplace discovery instead, Fresha and Treatwell offer that in exchange for commission on the clients they introduce.
Phorest does not list a marketplace commission in the way Treatwell and Fresha do, because it is not a consumer marketplace. Its costs sit in the plan tier and add-ons instead. Confirm what is in your quote, including SMS rates and payment processing, before comparing it with anything else.
Under GDPR you have the right to your client records whichever platform you are on. Ask Phorest what export files it can provide and in what format before you give notice. Setora can import supported records from the files you receive, and you can test your Booking Page before changing any public links.
No, and it would be misleading to say otherwise. Phorest has been building for salons far longer and covers loyalty, stock, an online store, video consultations and its own branded client app. Setora covers the core: online booking, stylist scheduling, reminders, deposits and Booking Protection, client records, reporting and a Shop Website. If your salon runs on the wider Phorest suite, check the gaps carefully first.
