Being honest

What Squire does well

We’re not going to pretend Squire is a bad product. Here’s where credit is due:

  • Barbershop marketplace. 7.6 million clients on the Squire app. For shops that rely on new client discovery, the marketplace is a genuine asset.
  • Instagram and Google booking. Direct booking from your Instagram profile and Google Business listing is included on all plans - a feature Setora doesn’t currently offer.
  • Well-funded with serious engineering. Squire has raised $165M. The product has depth - payroll, Squire Capital lending, same-day transfers, and hardware.
  • Barbershop-specific finance. Automated payouts, Squire Capital business loans, and same-day bank transfers are genuinely useful for established shops with payroll to run.

Squire makes sense if marketplace discovery is essential to your business. But the fee structure - applied to your clients - creates friction that’s hard to control. Setora gives you bookings, payments, and management at £39/month flat.

Under GDPR, Squire must let you download your client list, booking history, and service data. We’ll show you exactly how.

02

Set up your Setora account

Add your services, staff, and opening hours. Customise your booking page. Takes about 20 minutes.

03

Upload your client data, share your new booking link, and start taking appointments. Same day.

Before you switch

Squire holds your data for 30 days after cancellation. There is no self-service export - you need to contact support to retrieve it. We recommend requesting your full data export before you cancel. Setora provides CSV downloads of your client and appointment data at any time.

Squire's card reader works with their system. Setora supports Stripe Terminal hardware for in-person payments. If you have existing Squire hardware, you would need new terminals - contact us and we can walk you through the options.

Google reviews belong to your Google Business Profile, not to Squire. They stay with your business when you switch - no matter what booking software you use.

Squire has a consumer marketplace app. Your existing clients who book directly through your link can be moved to Setora easily - send them your new booking link. Clients who find you through Squire's marketplace may need to be redirected, but most of your regulars book directly.

Squire's marketing says no long-term commitment, but the Order Form you sign may lock you into an annual term. Check your specific agreement before cancelling. Setora is month-to-month with no annual commitment required.

Your Squire booking link is on Squire's domain - you can't take it with you. With Setora, your booking link is at your own domain or a setora.co.uk subdomain. Update your Instagram bio, Google Business Profile, and any other places you share your booking link.
