Thinking of switching?
Setora is built for independent shops, salons and hair professionals.
Online bookings, your calendar, customer records, staff tools and reporting in one place for £39/month per location.
- £39/month per location
- No Setora commission on bookings
- No per-staff fees
Youzse offers the broader toolset. Setora offers the more focused booking platform. The most measurable difference is what happens when customers pay by card.
The short version
Youzse combines bookings with quotes, invoices, loyalty, memberships, classes, WhatsApp messaging, VAT reporting, Tap to Pay and marketplace discovery. If you need several of those tools in one system, Youzse has the stronger published offer.
Setora is narrower. It is built for UK shops, salons and hair professionals that want direct online booking, a clear diary, unlimited staff, a hosted Shop Website and hands-on support. It costs £39/month per location before VAT where applicable. SMS credits and card processing are separate.
The clearest cost difference is card processing. Youzse publishes 2.5% + 35p per transaction. Setora adds no markup to the applicable Stripe rate. Stripe currently publishes 1.5% + 20p for standard UK cards, although your actual rate depends on card type and account terms.
At 200 monthly payments averaging £20, that illustration is £170 with Youzse and £100 at Stripe's published standard UK-card rate. The difference is £70 before either subscription is added.

What Youzse pricing really tells us
Youzse lists three monthly plans. Essentials is £19 and described as being for solo operators. Growth is £59 and described as giving growing teams more room. Scale is £109 and is aimed at established businesses with large teams.
The important gap is not a hidden charge. It is a missing threshold. The public page does not say exactly how many staff, bookings or other units place a business on each plan.
That means a multi-staff salon should not assume it can use the £19 Essentials plan. Ask Youzse which plan applies to your current team and what would trigger a move to the next tier.
Youzse also says the displayed price is the price paid and that no VAT is added. Setora's £39/month price is before VAT where applicable. That tax difference belongs in any honest comparison.
The payment-cost difference
Youzse says its 2.5% + 35p rate covers card processing and the Youzse platform payment fee. It separately advertises 0% commission on new clients found through its marketplace. Those are different things. The processing charge is not a marketplace commission.
Setora uses Stripe and does not add its own markup. Stripe's standard UK pricing currently starts at 1.5% + 20p for standard UK cards, with higher rates for premium and international cards.
Here is the same illustration at three payment volumes:
| Monthly £20 card payments | Card volume | Youzse at 2.5% + 35p | Stripe at 1.5% + 20p | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | £2,000 | £85 | £50 | £35 |
| 200 | £4,000 | £170 | £100 | £70 |
| 400 | £8,000 | £340 | £200 | £140 |
The calculation is straightforward. On a £20 payment, Youzse's published rate is 85p. Stripe's published standard UK-card rate is 50p. The illustrative gap is 35p per payment.
These are not guaranteed savings. They exclude subscriptions, VAT, refunds, disputes and cards that do not qualify for Stripe's standard UK rate. Use your real average payment value, card mix and monthly transaction count.
The practical lesson is simple. Do not compare booking platforms on subscription alone. A lower starting plan can still produce a higher total when a busy salon processes hundreds of payments.
Where Youzse is the better fit
Youzse has the stronger published offer when a business wants one broad system around more than the appointment diary.
It publishes native quotes and invoices, company records, payment links and overdue-invoice reminders. It also advertises gift cards, three loyalty modes, recurring memberships and marketing campaigns.
For communication, Youzse supports email, push, SMS and WhatsApp. Setora supports email and SMS reminders, with SMS charged separately as credits, but does not offer native WhatsApp messaging.
Youzse also publishes classes and group bookings, VAT tools, Tap to Pay, marketplace discovery and controls for multi-site or franchise businesses. Setora does not currently replace those features.
If your salon runs classes, sells memberships, prepares VAT returns inside its booking system or depends on marketplace discovery, Youzse may save you from joining several separate tools together. That can matter more than a payment-rate difference.
Where Setora is the better fit
Setora makes more sense when the diary is the centre of the business and most customers already find you directly.
Every location gets unlimited staff at one published platform price. A growing team does not create a new seat fee. Customers book through your own links from Google, Instagram, WhatsApp or your website, rather than entering a marketplace first.
Setora includes both a Shop Website and a Booking Page. The Shop Website gives your business a homepage, location pages, services, opening hours and booking buttons. The Booking Page handles the focused job of choosing a service, staff member, date and time.
The platform also covers deposits, Booking Protection, customer records, a waitlist, staff-operated walk-ins, reminders, multi-location management and reporting. Owners and staff can use Setora on iOS and Android. Customers book through the web, with nothing to download.
Support is deliberately direct. You can speak with the founder by email and get hands-on help with the move. For a small team that wants a focused platform rather than a broad business suite, that can be the more useful kind of depth.
What moves from Youzse to Setora
Youzse documents imports for customers, companies, services, staff, appointments, leads, quotes, invoices and reviews. That is broader than the import scope Setora currently publishes.
Setora can review CSV or Excel files for supported customer, service and booking records. Customer names, contact details, notes and consent fields can move when they are clearly present. Service names, prices and durations can be mapped. Past and upcoming appointments can be imported when the export includes the fields Setora needs.
Team details and opening hours should be checked carefully during setup. Saved card details cannot move through a CSV export. Customers will need to provide card details again when they next pay.
Keep Youzse running while Setora is prepared. Compare the old and new diaries, test a booking on mobile and desktop, then change public booking links last. The Youzse switch guide sets out the four steps.
Which should you choose?
Choose Youzse if quotes, invoice chasing, VAT preparation, memberships, classes, WhatsApp automation or marketplace discovery are important to how you work. Its published feature set is broader, and that breadth may matter more than the payment-rate difference.
Choose Setora if your priority is direct bookings, staff availability, deposits, reminders, walk-ins, customer history, reporting and a branded website. The narrower product may be easier to live with, and the payment maths may be materially lower.
Calculate the full monthly cost before deciding. Use the Youzse plan the provider confirms for your team, then add card processing at your real transaction volume. Compare that with Setora's £39/month per location, applicable VAT, SMS use and your actual Stripe rate.
The lowest-risk way to decide is to run a realistic test. Add your real services and staff. Book from an older phone. Reschedule and cancel. Export a customer list. Test the payment flow you intend to use. A feature list cannot tell you whether the system will feel right on a busy day.

Common questions
- Is Setora cheaper than Youzse?
- It depends on the Youzse plan that applies and how many card payments you process. Youzse starts at £19/month, while Setora is £39/month per location before VAT where applicable. Youzse publishes 2.5% + 35p per card transaction. Setora adds no payment markup, so the applicable Stripe rate applies. Compare subscription and processing together.
- What Youzse plan does a multi-staff salon need?
- Youzse lists Essentials at £19, Growth at £59 and Scale at £109 each month. Its public pricing page describes the plans by business stage but does not state exact staff, booking or usage thresholds. Ask Youzse to confirm the plan for your team rather than assuming Essentials applies.
- Can Setora import data from Youzse?
- Setora can import supported CSV or Excel records for customers, services and bookings, with a mapping review before you switch links. The exact result depends on the fields Youzse includes in your export. Export and check everything before cancelling.
- Which Youzse features does Setora not replace?
- Setora does not currently offer native WhatsApp messaging, quotes, invoices, gift cards, loyalty, memberships, classes, VAT returns, Tap to Pay, a payment terminal or a customer marketplace. Youzse may be the better fit if those tools are essential.
- Does Setora have mobile apps?
- Yes. Setora has iOS and Android apps for owners and staff. Customers continue to use the web-based Booking Page, so they do not need to download an app to book.
- Can I keep my existing card machine with Setora?
- Yes. Setora does not require its own terminal hardware. You can keep your existing card machine and use Setora's Stripe payment tools only where they suit your business.
